On August 7, 2020, USAID/Ghana awarded Total Family Health Organisation the USAID Health Marketing Activity in support of the mission’s Country Development Cooperation Strategy (2020-2025) goal of building a more self-reliant Ghana offering a productive, healthy life to all its citizens. The overall goal of the project is to promote the adoption of healthy behaviors among individuals by improving access, demand, and uptake of high impact health products related to family planning (FP); maternal, newborn, child health and nutrition (MNCHN); water sanitation and hygiene (WASH); HIV/AIDS; and malaria prevention and treatment.
Over the next five years, we will support the government of Ghana; and collaborate with the private sector and other implementing partners to achieve the project goal. Using our market driven approaches, this activity will address demand, access and affordability gaps for essential health products particularly in the 3 Health Marketing Activity focus regions of the north namely Northern, Northeast, and Savannah regions.
This is our first and a record time direct funding from USAID within 2 years of our existence, and we’re particularly excited because this project gives us the opportunity to bring to scale our expertise in health markets development to achieve sustainable supply chain efficiency and commodity security that supports consumers expanded choice and preferences for family planning and other essential health commodities. We will consolidate the investments USAID has made in these areas over the years.
